Greek pianist Theodoros Iosifidis was born in 1984 and started his piano studies aged 7 in the Municipal Conservatory of Kavala. He graduated from the ‘Neon’ Conservatoire, Thessaloniki, getting a Harmony Diploma with Grade A in June 2003 and his Piano Performance Diploma with the highest distinction (Grade A and 1st Prize) in June 2004. In 2009, he completed his BMus in Performance with First Class Honours at Trinity College of Music, London, where he studied with Yonty Solomon, Mikhail Kazakevich and Philip Fowke. In September 2009, Theodoros started a Masters degree in Performance at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, studying under Jonathan Plowright, with a scholarship generously offered by the Academy (RSAMD Trust).
Theodoros has been involved in numerous festivals and performance projects, such as the “Schumann Festival” and the “Rzewski Festival” in TCM, London. He won the 1st prize in the Leonard Smith Duo Competition in March 2007, and the 3rd prize in the Mozart Competition (Papaioannou Festival, Greece) in summer 2006. In November 2009 he represented the RSAMD in the Beethoven Intercollegiate Competition in London’s ‘Bluthner Centre’.
Since 2003 he collaborates with the violinist Iasonas Keramidis, with whom he has performed extensively in Germany and Greece. He has also participated as a performer in master classes with international soloists including Martino Tirimo, Steven Osborne, Ian Jones, George-Emmanuel Lazaridis, George Hadjinikos, Peter Donohoe, Elena Kuznetsova amongst others.
