Russian pianist Anna Vasilyeva is a collaborative pianist currently located in Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Vasilyeva received her Bachelor degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the Rimsky- Korsakov College of Music in St. Petersburg, studying under Ludmila Vasilyeva, William Matygulin, and Elmira Kairova. After graduating, she received a full talent scholarship to study under Sedmara Rutstein at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. Anna holds her Master degree from the Bowling Green State University where she studied under Thomas Rosenkranz.
Ms. Vasilyeva has taken part in a numerous international competitions and festivals. Her recent awards include those from the 20th Century Russian Music Competition in St. Petersburg and the Rovero d’Oro International Piano Competition in San Bartolomeo al Mare, Italy. Ms. Vasilyeva has participated in the Casalmaggiore International Festival in Cremona, in the Oberlin in Italy International Festival in Arezzo, Italy, as well as in the Songfest Festival in Malibu, USA. She has also taken part in master- classes by Yoshigazu Nagai, Kirill Gerstein, Li Min Qiang, Dmitry Rachmanov, Victor Rosenbaum, Marilyn Horne, Martin Katz, Margo Garrett, Vladimir Mischouk and Ekaterina Murina.
Ms. Vasilyeva has held a faculty staff accompanying position at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music upon graduating, as well as an accompanying assistantship at Bowling Green State University. Throughout her career, Anna has been collaborating with numerous vocalists, instrumentalists and chamber ensembles in Russia, Italy and in the United States. She has been coached by such renowned musicians as Monique Duphil, Milan Vitek, Michel Debost, Richard Hawkins, Alex Klein, Margo Garrett, Kendra Colton, Salvatore Champagne, Lorraine Manz, Philip Highfill, Myra Merritt, Christopher and Ellen Scholl, Jane Rogers, Douglas Wayland, and Vasile Beluska.
Recently, Anna has received a full scholarship award to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music where she is currently working on her Artist Diploma in collaborative piano studying under Anita Pontremoli. After completing the program, Anna intends to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in collaborative piano.
