We play everything from standards, to originals, to cross-genre pieces (eg. Egberto Gismonti, interpretations of classical repertoire, etc.) -I lead my own 8-piece group, "Community of the Spirit," which spans from jazz to classical to world and other music. I lead, compose, and play piano for this group, which includes a vocalist. -I have numerous times assumed the jazz piano chair for various other jazz situations (combo, vocalist, duos, larger ensembles, etc.) In addition, my experience includes (for those seeking multiple services): -Composition: I could give you an edge on the scene by performing new, original music. I have in my catalogue over 50 works ranging from big band, to string quartet, to wind ensemble, to voice and piano, to jazz combo. I've won awards such as 1st Place in the 2009 International Zurich Jazz Orchestra Composer Competition and was selected for the 2004 Young Composers Honors Concert as part of the NYSSMA Winter Conference. -Arranging: I can arrange your material for any kind of instrumentation you desire, or arrange whatever music you like for vocal/piano duo. I have done string arrangements for Greg Dokes (keyboardist, producer, and member of the Temptations Review), and for Adam Horowitz (trumpet player currently in NYC), have done piano/vocal arrangements for Dr. Sylvie Beaudette, and re-arranged "Spain" for a small Astral chamber ensemble. -Transcribing: I can transcribe music off of a particular recording if you like. I've done transcribing for the Temptations Review feat. Dennis Edwards (horn and rhythm transcriptions) and for "Plagued- A Love Story" (Part of the 2009 NYMF). Coach: I've worked as MD for a few musicals, particularly focused on working with harmonies, finding notes via intervals, and musicality. I've also done clinics with my music, including rehearsing with and conducting for the Weapons of Jazz Destruction.
