Additional Info:	Director of Music First Christian Church (FCC)- DOC Professional Accompanist and Event Pianist Justin West, native of Houston, TX, is a tenor, choral conductor, adjunct instructor, and a professional accompanist and event pianist. He is currently a senior at Lamar University working toward the BM degree with an emphasis in Choral (Vocal) Music Education and Piano. He studies voice with Professor Debra Greschner and previously studied piano with Dr. Roger Keele and Dr. Kingchi Au. Justin also performs in the nationally recognized A Cappella Choir and is the accompanist for Grand Chorus. Before moving to Beaumont to pursue formal training, Mr. West served on the choral staff as an Assistant Conductor and Pianist at RMCC in Houston. He is also a sought after collaborative pianist. He has played for several regional competitions, choirs, children’s choruses, and solo vocal and instrumental performers in Beaumont and Houston. Mr. West’s recent appointments include the Beaumont Ballet Theatre, Beaumont Community Players, Southeast Texas Children’s Chorus, NISD, and BISD among others. In Fall 2010, Mr. West will begin an appointment as Rehearsal Accompanist for the Beaumont Interfaith Choral Society. He has also performed in places such as Arizona, New York, Louisiana, and Florida. As a tenor, he has received many honors for his work in choirs such as numerous sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert/Sight Reading competitions. In Spring 2009, as a soloist, he also received the honor of being chosen as Semi-Finalist at the Greater Houston Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing Auditions and Awards. He is also the recipient of several community-based academic scholarships and grants including the coveted TMEA Undergraduate Scholarship in Music Education. He was also recently selected to take part in the McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program where he will perform research in voice pedagogy and choral music. And despite his hectic work, school, and performance schedule, he has maintained a reputable GPA at Lamar and has been academically recognized every semester including 4 Dean's List and 1 President's List appointments. Justin was previously employed as an Adjunct Instructor of Piano and Voice at All About Music Fine Arts Academy in Houston. Justin currently serves as Director of Music at First Christian Church in Beaumont where he oversees music department activities, conducts the Chancel Choir and serves as Artistic Director of the Concert Series.
