Pianist Kathleen Leung is a dedicated collaborative artist and chamber musician. A winner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, she is currently based in New York City. Ms. Leung was selected to perform in the prestigious Akademiekonzert series at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and has also performed at the Hot Springs Music Festival in Arkansas. She has given numerous solo and chamber music concerts in Ann Arbor, MI, including a performance in the Beethoven: The Sonata Obsession concert series and at such venues as Stamps Auditorium, the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre, and Kerrytown Concert House.
Ms. Leung has performed piano trios, quartets, and sonatas by Mozart, Poulenc, and Shostakovich. A former flutist herself, she is especially experienced in the flute and piano repertoire, ranging from Boehm and Taffanel to Amaya and Jolivet.
Ms. Leung has been the recipient of numerous scholarships, including the Music Scholarship from the Austrian-American Society of Delaware for study at the Mozarteum Summer Academy and the Chamber Music Society and Stamps Scholarships from the University of Michigan.
Graduating with highest honors from the University of Michigan, Katie Leung holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Piano and Flute Performance. A native of northern Delaware, Ms. Leung is currently pursuing a Master’s in Accompanying at Manhattan School of Music. She has studied piano with Daniel Pollack, Olivier Gardon, Louis Nagel, and Katherine Collier. As a flutist, she has studied with Vincent, Lucas, Davide Formisano, Philippe Bernold, and Amy Porter.
