Paul Swenson earned a Master of Music, and the Graduate Diploma in 1995 from the New England Conservatory. His compositions have been performed by the Berlin Saxophone Quartet, the Amherst Saxophone Quartet, the Ancia Saxophone Quartet, Donald Palma, and have appeared at the Klangfenster Festival, June in Buffalo, the Dvorak Museum in Prague, and Seattle's Benaroya Hall at the Seattle Symphony’s Made In America Festival. Swenson has performed with the Seattle Fringe Festival, the 14/48 Theatre Festival, the Contemporary Chamber Composers and Players, and Soprano lyrico Melanie Campbell. He was accompanist to the Vashon Island Chorale from 2008-2010. Swenson has received awards from ASCAP's Grants for Young Composers, the Percussive Arts Society, and the Composer's Guild, and the Janet Gates Peckham International Prize, and was a member of the 1997 Czech-American Music Institute.
