Additional Info:	Cheshire-born pianist Sally Wigan recently returned to the UK from a post-graduate year at the Franz Liszt Academy, Budapest, as winner of the Joseph Weingarten Scholarship. During this time she studied under Kalman Drafi, and performed across Hungary as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Sally completed her Masters degree in solo piano from the Royal College of Music, London, in 2009, under the tuition of Andrew Ball. Passionate about modern repertoire, she performed a programme of English twentieth century works for her degree recital, and won the Frank Merrick prize for the best performance of a British work in the 2009 RCM Contemporary piano competition. Sally was also awarded the runner-up prize in the piano section of the 2008 Performing Australian Music competition. In June 2007 Sally attained first class Honours from Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with the top mark for a pianist in her year, under Margaret Newman's tuition. She won the 2007 Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music prize and Birmingham Chamber Music Society Derek Young Memorial Award with a performance of Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time", and reached the final of the 2007 Birmingham Conservatoire piano prize. A keen chamber musician, Sally also performs with the Albero trio and Wigmore piano duo. Sally has performed across England in such venues as Symphony Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, St. Martin in the Fields and St. James Piccadilly. Sally has many years experience of accompanying and has covered an extensive range of cello, flute, violin, soprano and tenor repertoire, but is keen to accompany all instruments and voice types.
