I am an American composer-pianist based in East Dulwich, London. Originally from northern California, I came to London five years ago to do a PhD, which I earned in April 2011, and happily have stayed and am now a part-time lecturer at King's College London.
I provide piano, theory and composition lessons at all levels, for all ages. For beginner piano students I emphasize learning by ear over reading music. I see piano lessons as an opportunity for students to learn poise and focus in an enjoyable way, as well as learning pieces and techniques.
I have 16 years of experience as accompanist/coach, and I have tutored music theory & composition over many years at Amherst College (USA), University of Sussex, and King's College London, as well as privately. |
