American born Italian-Shanghainese pianist, Rossina Grieco was born into a musical family. Surrounded by the influence of opera, orchestral works, and chamber music, Rossina then began her musical studies with St. Petersburg pedagogue, Luba Ugorski, at four years old. Rossina made her debut at Copley Hall with the San Diego Symphony, at eight years old.
She has appeared as soloist with the Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Xiamen Symphonies, Shanghai Philharmonic, and the China Philharmonic in venues such as Lincoln Center, Poly Theatre, Koerner Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Xinghai Concert Hall, The Auditorium at TSRI, and Sherwood Hall. She has played under the baton of Maestros Gábor Takács-Nagy, Yu Long, Xu Zhong, Chen Zuo Huang, Chen Xie Yang, Yoon Jae Lee, and Jung-Ho Pak whilst collaborating with artists such as Jacques Taddei, Zhang Zuo, Jennifer Koh, Boris Berezovsky and Hiroko Nakamura. Rossina was invited as guest artist at the Beijing International Music Festival, La Jolla Music Society, Antheneum Concert Series, as well as performing numerous private recitals across San Diego, Toronto, Leeds, and New York.
Upon receiving recommendation from Gary Graffman, she continued her studies at Juilliard with Matti Raekallio and Fanny Waterman (DBE). Miss Grieco has also attended the Shanghai Theatre Academy, where she was formally trained in dramatic arts, film, and television acting.
Rossina later went on to receive an Undergraduate degree from the Glenn Gould School, and is currently in her second year of an Artist Diploma program in the studio of John Perry and James Anagnoson. She is also the only recipient of the Ihnatowycz Prize, one of the highest, and most prestigious artistic awards offered in Canada. Rossina recently received invitation to audition at the Curtis Institute of Music, and will be playing at various management competitions in the Fall.
