During the years of working as an accompanist in Opera Studio, I improved my ability to follow a singer, get acquainted with a range of different vocal and choir repertoire-songs, arias from operas, art songs, song cycles, oratorio starting from baroque to contemporary music. I also identified and corrected mistakes (i.e. notes, rhythms, and entrances), remarked on use of voice (intonation), talked about poetic and dramatic issues, and helped in reading and pronunciation of German, Italian languages. During choir rehearsals I was able to play the accompaniment in addition to the vocal parts at various speeds, helped to memorize the scores correctly, have very good sight-reading skills.

Being an accompanist is about trusting what you do as being a quality product. I was needed to be able to get on with people and fade into the background when you have to, but at the same time be supportive as a person and a musician. I worked with different instrumentalist (horn, viola, violin, cello etc.) and different ensembles. As a collaborative pianists I have the same technical skills as soloists, plus of sonata and duo repertory, vocal repertory, and chamber music.
