Karen Anderson

Karen Anderson has been a Kansas City musician for the last ten years, moving in and out of various groups and venues. She started piano at a fairly young age after having to beg for lessons for a full year, a fact she's never forgotten. She's always been motivated to work hard at the piano because it's a similar activity for survival such as eating or breathing would be for normal people.

Karen grew up in the theatre environment, performing in fifteen different shows before moving offstage and into the pit, where she quickly fell in love with working to support the onstage cast. Her favorite Broadway shows are Beauty and the Beast, Music Man, and Fiddler on the Roof. Karen has often been blessed by the messages of different shows, and loves to look for the deeper meaning behind the songs and dances.

Karen also loves to work with kids, and has been a part of Act ONE, the Academy of Christian Theatre for four years now. She also operates a private piano studio in order to have one on one time with the kids to work on both piano needs and to be a mentor.

Her favorite things include English tea, good literature, Jesus, working with kids, and baking. Not necessarily in that order.
