Adam Schwamb (b. 1983) began studying piano at 7 and composition with Dr. Clive Davis at the age of 15. He received his BMus in Composition with a concentration in Piano from the Greatbatch School of Music (Houghton College in Houghton, NY) studying with Dr. Mark Hijleh and Dr. Sun Mi Ro. Adam Schwamb has also studied extensively with the composer Thomas Geoghegan. He studied choral conducting under Dr. Brandon Johnston and instrumental conducting under Gary Stith. Adam Schwamb is an active member of ASCAP.
Adam Schwamb has written numerous sacred and secular compositions in a variety of genres, including works for voice, piano, orchestra, wind ensemble chorus and various chamber groups.
Adam Schwamb's compositions have been broadly performed both within the United States and internationally. He was recently named the winner of the 2007 David C. Lam International Hymn Tune Composing Competition.
Adam Schwamb currectly serves as the director of choral and concert band activities at the Mid Vermont Christian School in Quechee, VT where he also teaches Theory and Aural Skills. During the summer he teaches electronic music composition and music history at the Cardigan Mountain School in Canaan, NH.
