Maria Gorodetskaya, the pianist/accompanist, graduated from the University of Florida with a Masters Degree in piano performance in 2008. She also earned a Master of Music degree in piano performance in 2004 from Gnesin Russian Academy in Moscow, where she studied with legendary pianist and professor Maria Gambarian, who made the strongest impact on Marias music-making.
Maria has received numerous honor in international piano competitions to include
international piano festivals of Prague and Moscow, including International Piano
Competition by Rubinstein in Paris France, International Piano Competition in Hassel
Germany, University of Florida Concerto Competition in the United States where she performed 1 Concerto by Rachmaninoff in a Big Hall of University Auditorium in April 2008.
Active as a performer Ms. Gorodetskaya has played throughout Russia, Ukraine, Czech
Republic, Germany, France, and the United States having performed in such venues as the
Small and Rachmaninoff Halls of Moscow, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Big and Small Gnesin Russian Academy, Conservatory Hall in Prague, University of Florida Auditorium.
In addition to Marias performing career, she has professionally accompanied solo
instrumentalists and ensembles throughout Russia and the US.
Besides performing and accompanying Maria has been successfully teaching as a member
of the International Music Academy in Houston TX from 2011 through 2019. During these years she has been enjoying teaching and put her passion into it, so kids have been successfully performing at the recitals, competitions, and festivals. In October 2018 International Music Academy had a trip to New York where both faculty and kids gave 2 outstanding debut recitals in Carnegie Hall.
Currently, Maria and her husband David settled in Los Angeles, where they are teaching and performing. Maria mostly specializing in performing the music by different composers in a variety of styles, but she feels a special attachment to the music by Rachmaninoff.
