Michael O'Dell is an accomplished pianist who lives smack dab in the Times Square area, close to every major rehearsal venue (Open Jar, Ripley-Grier, etc.). He is also a composer, lyricist, jazz pianist, music director, music copyist and actor and will earn his MA this July (2022) from BerkleeNYC (Writing and Design for Musical Theatre).
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music (Music Composition) with a focus on accompanying for musical theatre and opera.
As a Music Director for over 150 Equity and non-equity shows and cabarets, Michael has served as MD for the 'In the Mood' National Tour. He has over 20 years of professional musical direction and accompanying experience specializing in new musical workshops and voice classes.
He is well-versed in the past and present Broadway musicals such as Jason Robert Brown, Sondheim, Iconis, and many more. In regards to playing for voice students, Michael is skilled in transposition on the spot and also playing by ear.

At BerkleeNYC, he is currently studying with Julianne Wick Davis (Story & Narrative), Michael Starobin (Orchestration), Rona Siddiqui (MD for 'Strange Loop'), Ian Kagey and Brian Usifer (Demos, Mixing & Producing), and Faye Chiao and Louden Stearns (Design Thinking).
