Danny Farah

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Danny Farah is an award-winning pianist currently based in New York City. He has won prizes in competitions such as the Crescendo International Music Competition and the St. Cecilia International Vocal and Instrumental Music Competition and has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and the Kimmel Center.
As a collaborative pianist, Danny maintains a busy concert schedule with many solo instrumentalists, singers, chamber ensembles, choirs, and large instrumental ensembles in the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas. Most notably, he has accompanied renowned flutist and Juilliard professor Carol Wincenc. He is currently a staff pianist at Mannes School of Music, Mannes Prep, and Rutgers University. He also enjoys musical theater, and he has accompanied several cabarets and participated in pit orchestras for a number of musicals.
Danny is a highly sought-after piano teacher. He maintains a private studio of his own consisting of students of all ages and skill levels while also being on the faculty at Music to Your Home and Hudson County School of Music. Additionally, he teaches group piano lessons at DZ Arts Development, Inc.
In addition to classical music, Danny also plays jazz, pop, and rock. He has performed at Chris’ Jazz Café in Philadelphia five times in jazz combos and big bands and participated in numerous jazz festivals throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Danny began his piano studies at the age of nine. He earned his B.M. in Piano Performance summa cum laude from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance and his M.M. in Collaborative Piano from the Mannes School of Music. He has participated in masterclasses with Jonathan Biss, James Dick, and Benjamin Zander, as well as a Chamber Music Society masterclass with flutist Adam Walker. He has attended numerous summer music festivals such as Round Top Music Festival, Classic Lyric Arts, and Academy of Fortepiano Performance. His teachers and mentors have included Charles Abramovic, Audrey Axinn, Cristina Stanescu, Eteri Anjaparidze, and Viktor Valkov.
Throughout his career, Danny hopes to fulfill the needs of other musicians by accompanying soloists and choirs in concert while also regularly performing with chamber ensembles and orchestras. He would love to share his passion for music with others both on the stage and in the lesson room. When Danny is not playing the piano, he enjoys running, biking, watching football, and playing with his dog, Charlie.
