Valentina Wang is a Italian freelance collaborative pianist based in London. She recently graduated from Guildhall School of Music with a First Class Honours Artist Diploma degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She previously obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Achille Peri - Claudio Merulo in Reggio Emilia, and later pursued a Master Course specialising in Solo Piano Performance at Conservatorio Venezze in Rovigo.
She completed a year long course in Harpsichord and Fortepiano at Accademia Gherardeschi in Pistoia, Italy. In 2022 she was awarded the “Giovanna and Fabrizia Magnani” scholarship for outstanding academic achievement.
Over the years, she studied with Caroline Palmer, Roberto Prosseda, Enrico Pompili, Franca Bacchelli, Gloria Campioli and Norma Veronesi, and attended masterclasses held by Boris Berman, Alexander Romanovsky, Kostantin Sherbakov, Matti Raekkallio, Beatrice Rana, Giampaolo Pretto, Simone Gramaglia, Stefano Barneschi.
She is a prizewinner of several national and international piano competitions, such as, J.S Bach Competition, Castiglion Fiorentino Competition, Riccione Piano Competition, G.Rospigliosi Competition and Steinway Piano Competition. Together with Lycos Trio, founded in 2019, she won First Prize in Palmanova International Competition, Piove di Sacco Competition, Sarzana International Competition and Alberghini Competition. She was finalist of the Susan Longfield Competition and the Chartered Surveyors Prize at Guildhall, and was finalist of the International Bacewitz Competition in Lodz, Poland. She was recently awarded first place at the Jubilee Accompaniment Prize at Guildhall.
She performed both as a solo and as a chamber musician in many prestigious halls and
theatres in Italy, the UK, Spain and Finland. Among them are Milton Court Concert Hall, Barbican Concert Hall, Silk Street Music Hall, St. James Piccadilly Church, St James
Church in Sussex Gardens, St Mary Le Bow Church, St Saviours Church in Pimlico, St Mary Le Strand Church, Bologna Municipal Theatre, Pavarotti-Freni Theatre in Modena, Municipal Theatre Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia, Arese Borromeo Palace in Cesano

From 2019 she has been harpsichordist of Istituto Peri’s Baroque Ensemble, with whom she toured northern Italy. She is pianist of Cineclassic Trio, and regularly plays for “Mo.re” musical theatre association in Modena as principal keyboardist. In 2023 she was part of a project led by cellist Luca Franzetti, playing “Aquilarco” by Giovanni Sollima, recorded for Italian TV channel Sky Classica. While at Guildhall, she played with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra as orchestral pianist, performing Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin and Holst’s Planets, working with directors such as Anthony Hermus and Alpesh Chauhan. She participated in projects led by Gordon Back, Dylan Perez and Ricardo Gosalbo, Alison Wells, and was selected to play for the prestigious Song Guild, led by Graham Jonhson.
In 2025, she was chosen as pianist for ChamberFest at Guildhall, where she got the opportunity to perform with Guildhall Professors in Milton Court Concert Hall.
Since 2016, she has been working as a staff accompanist for Istituto Peri-Merulo in Reggio
Emilia and Conservatorio Monteverdi in Bolzano. She accompanied masterclasses held by
renowned instrumentalists Andrea Lucchi, Piergiuseppe Doldi, Massimo Polidori, Luca
Vignali, Luca Franzetti, Nicola Bignami, Andrea Tofanelli, Cecilia Radic. In 2022 she was selected for an internship with the Erasmus+ project at Conservatorio Superior Salvador Segui de Castellon de la Plana, Spain, where she worked as a chamber music assistant professor and as a collaborative pianist. At Guildhall, she regularly plays for Tim Lowe, Louise Hopkins, and Jonathan Aaagard classes.
