Uyen Phuong Than, who started her musical learning at the young age of 7 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory, has since won seven gold medals at piano and organ contests organized by Yamaha, Casio, Kawai in Vietnam. She has become the first Vietnamese student achieving a scholarship of the Piano Performance Department of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She was also one of five people honored at the Asian Young Talent Classical Piano Competition in 2007 in Singapore. She graduated her Master of Music in The New England Conservatory of Music in 2014 with honors in Contemporary Improvisation major.
