Dave Mibus’ Bio

Drawn to the piano from the very beginning of his life, Dave has had many opportunities to share his talent & skills…

He has recorded his own CDs & written many pieces.

Dave has also worked alongside a variety of people of all ages & in many situations over the years, including being an accompanist for…Jane Rutter, Schools Spectacular, TDP, Creative Generation, Mirusia, Opera Queensland, and for many schools, universities, choirs & churches. In addition, he has accompanied many students for their AMEB exams, Trinity exams & music competitions.

As well as this, Dave has enjoyed playing the piano for various festivals, weddings, parties, Christmas productions & other functions. He played for the opening of the new State Library of Queensland and was the repetiteur & pianist for the Australian premiere of the Gothic Symphony. Dave was also the keys 1 for the Sydney 2015 Avenue Q musical.

He has written a film score & has worked as a hand-coach for movie actors portraying pianists. He has been a judge for talent quests & has adjudicated at piano competitions.

Dave has been in a number of bands including ‘Jazzmin’ (a jazz trio), ‘Skinny Jean’ (a rock band) and ‘MIBUS’ (a band formed alongside his brother, Benjamin – a violinist).

He also travelled on ‘The Queenslander’ train playing piano as an entertainer.

His gift of music has taken him many places throughout the world, including Europe, America & around Australia.

Dave loves playing the piano and intends on doing so for the rest of his life.
