Janet Colburn is a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of So. Calif. and is an internationally recognized concert and recording artist, piano accompanist and collaborator, concert producer and master teacher of piano. She has worked with major artists in a variety of musical styles, including Sir Neville Marriner (Audiofon Records), Lalo Schifrin, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, violinist Iona Brown, cellist Nathaniel Rosen, pianist Daniel Pollack, the Ying Quartet, tenors Siegfried Jerusalem and Gustavo Jimenez, jazz artists Buddy Collette and Kenny Dennis, and Grammy-winning vocalist Macy Gray.
Singers and instrumentalists have the rare opportunity to record, rehearse and perform in an elite private studio in Pasadena, CA featuring a superb Bosendorfer Imperial 9'6" Imperial grand piano. Dr. Colburn has a vast knowledge of musical styles and genres as well as masterful sight-reading ability and spot-on accuracy as a pianist. She specializes in Audition and Competition Preparation as well as recitals and recording, and has developed methods to alleviate performers "stage-nerves" and enhance their stage-presence and projection.

Accompanying fees are determined on a "sliding-scale" based on individuals' budgets, goals, and amount of time/hours desired. (Discounts are offered for intensive rehearsal/recording schedules or multiple-hour /extended bookings.)
