Although I am a classically trained pianist with an array of experiences accompanying choirs, soloists and small ensembles in Western music, I have also accompanied musical groups who perform Traditional and Contemporary Gospel music as well. In addition, I also have the ability of playing by ear in some instances, but I can read the written scores of any style of music at first sight with few errors. I began piano lessons at the age of 4 and still play the piano daily in my classroom and at church. My qualifications are inclusive of having a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, a Masters of Arts in Education and a Master of Science degree in Education Media Design and Technology. Furthermore, I have over 30 years teaching choral music in the public school setting. Currently I am the choral music educator at a high school and the Minister of Music for a church in the downtown Richmond, Virginia community. In addition, I recently started my piano teaching practice where I have a few students under my tutelage.
