Profile: I am a professional pianist, composer and teacher. I teach mainly jazz and blues, but also music theory and classical piano for beginners. I am a University of Leeds graduate with a BA (Hons) World and Popular Music (2:1) degree. I became a self-employed piano and music theory teacher whilst studying at Leeds Univeristy, gained 1st’s in second and third year composition modules, and was awarded 'Winner of the Leeds Music College Music for a Silent Film Competition' with the piece ‘A Life in the Night’ composed for symphony orchestra. I began working for Genre Music in September 2010, performing solo piano in The Living Room restaurants in Leeds, York and Manchester. I studied Communication Studies in St Brendan's College which taught me a lot about private tutoring and performing in front of large audiences. Music is a great communicative tool that enables me to regularly develop rapport with large audiences and at a one to one basis. In 2003 I received my ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, and the following year my ABRSM Grade 5 Theory.
