Additional Info:

Kevin Tamanini first started to play the piano when he was nine years old and by the age of thirteen knew that this was going to be a lifelong passion and commitment. While still at school, he attended the Conservatoires at Evreux, Rouen and lastly Metz, where in 1998 (class of Eric Vidonne), he was awarded the medaille d’or (first prize) for piano and accompaniment (class of David Selig). He studied simultaneously the History of music, Analysis, Harmony, Music Theory, Counterpoint, and Basso Continuo.

He studied with Frau Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst at the Musikhochschule Lübeck (Germany) before joining the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Sarrbrücken (Germany) with Thomas Duis and Fedele Antonicelli, where he passed his Konzerreifeprüfung (Masters) in 2009. He participated as well in Masterclasses held by Thomas Brandis, Noel Lee, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Pascal Le Corre and Anne Queffelec.

Kevin speak several fluently several languages (French, German, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Luxembourgish) and has as well a serious knowledge of Italian, Greek, and Russian.
This, together with his keen interest in literature, helps him to achieve a sensitive and enthusiastic approach to the relationship between words and music in his work with singers.
It is therefore not surprising that he has been invited on a number of occasions to take part in different festivals such as the Francis Poulenc International Academy for French melodies, the Opera house of Metz (France), the National Opera of Tours (France) and the Luxembourg Philharmony where he played with artists such as Cécile Bonnet, Valérie Condoluci, Marianne Dellacasagrande, Rolando Villazon, and Yuja Wang.

In May 2011, he was appointed repetiteur for the ‘Giacomo Variations’ directed by Martin Haselböck with John Malkovich at the Luxembourg Philharmony.
Since 1999, Kevin has been the repetiteur for numerous masterclasses held by world-class singers such as Sigmund Nimsgern, Francois Le Roux, Udo Reinemann or Jennifer Larmore.
He is also a laureate of the Saarbourg International competition for young pianists (1997).

Since his arrival in Australia in 2022, Kevin has been invited to play several times for the Melbourne Composers’ League and has been appointed to the position of Repetiteur for various Opera companies such as Melbourne Opera, IOpera or BK Opera.

Holding a State Diploma of piano pedagogy, he has working as a piano teacher, accompanist, repetiteur, as well as head of department at the Regional Music School of Dudelange, Luxembourg since 2004 until 2022.
