Owen is a classical pianist who has appeared numerous recitals and prestigious competitions in Canada and around the world. He is a decorated scholar of McGill University, holding a Bachelors in Piano Performance along with minors in Music Theory and Composition. In school, He is the recipient of the Anna Paull Gertler Scholarship, Edward C Wood Scholarship, Verna-Marie Parr Gélinas and Paul-Marcel Gélinas Piano Award, as well as being awarded the designation of the Dean’s Honor list. He was named the National Silver Medalist in the Canadian Music Competition in 2022, Provincial Finalist in the Ontario Music Festivals Association in 2019, and a frequent top prize winner of multiple categories in the Peel Music Festival from 2018-2019. Most recently, he was the Finalist in the McGill Concerto Competition in 2023. He has participated in many prestigious international festivals, having received masterclasses by renounced artists such as Louie Lortie, Ronan O'hora, Eitan Globerson, and Violaine Melancon. Although born in Hong Kong, he now travels between Toronto and Montreal as a sought-after solo performer, chamber pianist, and private teacher.
