I am an experienced teacher who has taught the piano for over fifteen years, and have accompanied students for examinations on many occasions. My professsional background is in Secondary Education, so I have a wide understanding of working with a variety of individuals. I believe that it is vital that the accompanist makes the performer feel at ease, and I have been excellent at this through combining a combination of a calm approach, a belief that the performer and accopampanist must practice togerther and become familiar with one another, and by showing complete professionalism in the exam or recital itself.
As a student and teacher of music for over 30 years, I am familiar with the Associated Boards and Trinity Boards, and my sight reading is excellent. I have Grade 8 Piano, Grade 8 Recorder, Grade 7 Flute, Muslc A Level and Theory, and have an A grade in the sight reading requirement for the Advanced certificate. I am fully CRB checked as I work with students professionally.
