Ruth has accompanied every voice and every orchestral instrument on stage, in concerts, exams and assessments and in lessons. She has extensive experience playing for candidates in all of the UK examination boards: Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity College of Music (previously Trinity Guildhall), London College of Music, National College of Music & Victoria College of Music.

For rehearsals and gigs with no piano available Ruth can bring along a good quality Yamaha 'studio piano' (digital keyboard). She prefers a real piano but keyboards are sometimes very useful. Ruth has some professional experience playing harpsichord and organ, and a strong interest in the interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque music - though she does not currently own either instrument. She offers a home studio with a top quality Yamaha boudoir grand piano and a top of the range Casio digital piano for rehearsals although she is very happy to travel to rehearsal studios closer to you if preferred.

Ruth has worked as an official accompanist for a number of festivals in Lincolnshire and Kent. In the past she worked as a freelance ensemble pianist in Canterbury & East Kent where she accompanied the Faversham Choral Society and was pianist for local ballet classes in Wye, Canterbury, Deal and Broadstairs Schools of Dancing and at the original Canterbury branch of Dance Warehouse. Ruth also accompanied Eurythmy classes at the local Steiner/Waldorf School as well as accompanied children for their examinations at Kent College, Vernon Holme School and local grammar schools in Canterbury.

Ruth regularly accompanies singers and other instrumentalists at weddings and funerals across Kent and Lincolnshire.

Ruth charges a fixed fee of between £45- £60 ( depending on the grade ) for piano accompaniment at examinations & auditions. The fee includes one rehearsal at her studio, a recording of the rehearsal (which is sent out afterwards) and attendance at the examination/audition venue on the day.
This fee also includes a performance coaching support element to enable nervous students perform at their best.

She charges different rates for choir, dance classes and wedding accompaniments depending on what is required. Please contact her for details.
