I am a composer-pianist based in southwest London. Originally from northern California, I came to London 17 years ago to do a PhD, which I earned in April 2011, and happily have stayed - I now divide my time between teaching and composing for cross-arts projects with theatre, video and visual arts. I teach music composition at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

I provide piano and music theory lessons at all levels, for ages 6 and up. For beginning piano students I emphasize learning by ear over reading music. My piano lessons as an opportunity for students to learn poise and focus in an enjoyable way, as well as learning pieces and techniques.

I have 27 years of experience as accompanist/coach and piano teacher.

In addition to piano, I have played in the Southbank Gamelan ensemble, and accordion in the London Improvisers Orchestra.
