Predominantly a vocal accompanist, Susie studied at the GSMD with Graham Johnson, Paul Hamburger, Iain Burnside and Martin Isepp, winning the available prizes for accompaniment, and going on to receive the Gerald Moore Award, and a Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Award. She taught Piano Accompaniment at the RCM before moving to Shropshire in 2002. She is now a very experienced performer and has appeared with many singers on the concert platform over the years, as well as directing opera from the keyboard. She has a long-standing partnership with the baritone Roderick Williams. Like most accompanists however, she is very versatile, and can offer her services at many different levels, and particularly enjoys helping young instrumentalists and singers to discover more about music through working with an experienced accompanist.
