I have studied the piano since age seven and spent my first two 1/2 years in college as a music major, piano performance, before changing course to pursue a business career. While working full time, I continued to study piano and played as often as possible. Now retired after a 40-year career in financial services, I have immersed myself back into the piano, learning new music and performing when possible.
For the past 10+ years, I have studied with Montana composer and recording artist, Philip Aaberg, who is a wonderful teacher and mentor.
I have one video on YouTube from a house concert in 2021 which contains a mix of classical music as well as other genres. While I have since played other concerts, they have not been recorded.
Over the years, I have accompanied choirs, individual vocalists, played for musical theatre, fundraisers, private parties, and given house concerts. I have played for high end restaurants and clubs. Currently, I serve as a church pianist. I am not interested in teaching. Thank you.
Fees
$ 100.00 Dollars Per Hour
$100 is my normal hourly event rate with an event discount for non profit fundraisers. For churches, I charge $150 per service which averages out to less than $50 an hour based on preparation time and travel involved. Fees for weddings or funerals are in the $200.00 range depending on the number of rehearsals, and/or prep time needed. If I have to provide the keyboard and equipment, my event rates increase by $50.00. In terms of "specialisms" listed below, I interpret "early music" to mean classical music which I love to play in addition to ragtime, new age, pop music, etc. As my piano teacher loves to say, we just love to play good music.
