Additional Info:

Tim is an experienced professional accompanist who is comfortable playing at all levels and in all genres. He plays for concerts, recitals, recordings and auditions, for all grade and diploma examinations, competitions, rehearsals and broadcasts. Tim is also happy to accompany lessons and sessions without a teacher with the aim of perfecting repertoire. He also accompanies on the organ.

Tim is happy to make professional standard videos or sound recordings with quality soundtracks customised to the musicians' requirements.

Recordings are made with fine audio equipment on a Steingraeber Grand Piano or a Yamaha Digital Piano. Where organ accompaniments are required, they can be made on a fine Rushworth and Dreaper pipe organ.

Tim initially studied piano at Trinity College of Music, London, and his qualifications include BMus honours (Hull University) & Masters (Liverpool University) degrees, a teaching Certificate from Cambridge University, and LTCL (piano recital) and ARCO diplomas.

Although most often working in North Wales and Cheshire, Tim has also enjoyed engagements in Liverpool, Manchester, London, Devon, Cardiff, Cambridge and Edinburgh. Tim has worked with leading singers, instrumentalists and choirs in venues as diverse as Symphony Hall Birmingham, Usher Hall and St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh, St Asaph, Lichfield, Chester and Bangor Cathedrals and Clwyd Theatr Cymru Mold, as well as venues in London and many smaller locations. Tim has also played for recording sessions with Decca/UMG, Sain, Rondo and EMI in North Wales, Abbey Road London and elsewhere.

Tim worked as staff accompanist for Bangor University for 7 years and he has played as official accompanist for the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and other leading competitive festivals and accompanied winning individual competitors at the Welsh National Eisteddfod and other similar events.

Besides accompaniment, Tim is also experienced as an orchestral and chamber pianist. He has worked for professional ensembles such as Ensemble Cymru and the orchestra of Mid-Wales Opera. His piano and harpsichord orchestral repertoire includes works such as Respighi - Pines of Rome, Bach - 5th Brandenburg Concerto, Lambert - Rio Grande, Shostakovitch - 5th Symphony, Cantaloupe - Songs of the Auvergne, Saint-Saëns - Carnival of Animals and 'Organ symphony', Stravinsky - Symphony of Psalms and numerous baroque works.

£ 22.50 Pounds Per Hour
Fees are always very competitive, but can vary according to the the nature of the work requested. A fine Yamaha digital piano with 2 high quality portable speaker/amplifiers can be supplied for performances when no other suitable instrument is available, and Tim owns a spinet suitable for some 17th and early eighteenth century accompaniment. Work in North Wales and Cheshire only attracts nominal travel expenses whereas travel expenses for engagements further afield can also sometimes be fitted in very economically.
