I am a former concert pianist and recording artist having studied with, among others, two of the foremost piano pedagogues of recent times.
I have recently moved to Carmarthenshire, South Wales where I shall be taking on a limited amount of accompaniment work. I have now retired from a renowned forty-three- year private teaching practice, hence the reduced activity!
I have the same number of years' experience in Professional Accompaniment for ABRSM and Trinity-Guildhall examinations as well as for Music College, Scholarship and other auditions (including BBC Young Musician), and for regional Music Festivals.
My own lineage in study includes the eminent teachers Guy Jonson (late 1970's/early 1980s) and the legendary pianist, teacher and composer Peter Feuchtwanger (1990s), whose complete piano works I recorded on the Music Chamber label in 2006.
For accompaniment services, I have transport to exams and am available for work in all of the above fields, subject to availability. All rehearsal work is undertaken at my home address in Carmarthenshire.
Please note that travel expenses for accompaniment are chargeable for work outside my hometown. (Please see below for details).
Accompaniment rates are listed below.
Fees
£ 54.00 Pounds Per Hour
For Graded Exams and similar accompaniment work (Classical only, no Jazz or Music Theatre) I offer a package of one 30-minute rehearsal at my home address, plus the examination, all for £54.00. Any further work is at £54.00 per hour/£27.00 per half hour. For work within my immediate area this would include travel expenses to the exam. Outside the area, modest expenses would be chargeable, depending on distance travelled. I also accept sessions for recording submissions to online ABRSM etc assessments and music college auditions - recordings would be made at my home address, as above, recording equipment to be provided by the candidate.
