The Sandgate Singers, a local 70-strong community choir based in Storrington, West Sussex, seek a regular accompanist to start in September 2014. The choir rehearses on Monday evenings during term time at Storrington and Sullington Parish Hall between 7.30pm and 9.30pm and covers a wide range of music from classical choral works to contemporary music.
The role comprises helping to prepare the choir in conjunction with the Musical Director for all concerts and performances (usually 3 or 4 per year). Depending on the applicant, the role may also include accompanying the choir in concert at the organ and/or the piano.
Excellent piano skills are essential for the role. Organ-playing ability is desirable, but not essential. The ability to read from open vocal scores would also be advantageous.
Pay dependent on experience.
